Psalms 136 is a psalm of praise. The concept of praise is "to speak of His name." (For more on psalms, I highly recommend Dr. Ronald Allen's And I Will Praise Him: A Guide to Worship in Psalms).
So, I WILL SPEAK OF HIS NAME and tell you what God has done in my life, just like the psalmist recounted what God had done in the life of Israel.
Give thanks to the LORD for He is good

To Him who alone does great wonders
His love endures forever
Who by His understanding made the heavens
His love endures forever
Who spread out the earth upon the waters
His love endures forever
Who made the great lights
His love endures forever
The sun to govern the day
His love endures forever
The moon and the stars to govern the night
His love endures forever
To Him who brought justice
His love endures forever
Who provided for my mom and her children
His love endures forever
when her husband left, the children abandoned
His love endures forever
the church, His body and bride loved her and her children
His love endures forever
To Him who counseled
His love endures forever
Who gives a new song
His love endures forever
restores my broken with kindness and gentleness
His love endures forever
To God who gave me a husband and children
His love endures forever
provided a place to dwell and a way
His love endures forever
to glorify His great name through creation
His love endures forever
a farm, a time, a space
His love endures forever
Never will He leave me, never will He forsake me
His love endures forever
Who freed us from our enemy
His love endures forever
and who gives food to every creature
His love endures forever
Give thanks to the God of heaven
His love endures forever
